Prepared on farm workshop options include:
Birthing Workshop: prepare for lambing, kidding, calving, or farrowing by reviewing normal parturition & female anatomy, learn how to identify abnormal parturition, & practice correction of fetal malpresentation via a pelvic model & cadaver fetuses. Includes Birthing Workshop Guide, Calving Checklist, Lambing Checklist, & Farrowing Checklist.
Euthanasia Workshop: learn proper technique for on farm euthanasia using a captive bolt gun (purchase required prior to workshop date), including proper care & cleaning of your captive bolt gun, correct placement for cattle, sheep, goats, or pigs, & making the euthanasia decision. Includes industry recognized Euthanasia Manual by Dr. Jan Shearer, Euthanasia SOP, & species-specific resources for special request species.
Basic Veterinary Skills Workshop: tailored to the needs of your operation, but might include how to perform a physical exam, injection techniques, orogastric tubing, basic animal handling & movement, evaluation of existing veterinary equipment, newborn processing techniques, etc. The workshop will include as much hands-on experience as possible depending on your current animal population & available equipment. Includes relevant written SOPs for each topic covered.
Pricing
Call fee based on mileage from Visalia, CA
Within 10 miles = $20
Beyond 10 miles = $10 + $1/mile (example 50 miles = $10 + $50)
Base workshop price includes training for two people & starts at $350 for a 1 hour workshop
Additional participants are $25 per person, which allows for an additional 10 minutes of practice per person
Additional time beyond the base 1 hour is $300/hour, billed in 15 minute increments
Accompanying resources will be printed & provided at the time of the workshop
