I appreciate all the interest, support, comments, & more that everyone has sent in. This has been a dream of mine for quite some time & has been a huge undertaking. I'd be lying if I said I did it all by myself, so say hello to some of the people who have helped make this a reality.
Chris is my webmaster, videographer, editor, strategist, project manager, hype man. He's put in full time hours to make the website as beautiful & functional as it is, standardized the formatting on all our resources (SOPs, lab guides, videos), spent countless hours with me in the very hot & very cold to do the same video clip 5 times till I'm happy, & more. He's been a great partner through the ups & downs of starting a small business & I appreciate everything he's put in.
Lauren is a great friend of mine, who is also a veterinarian. We met in college & have stayed in touch, offering a second opinion on a weird case, venting about trainwreck days where we just can't catch a break, supporting each other through major life changes (jobs, houses, moves), & helping each other with resources & materials for our respective jobs & responsibilities. Lauren has been essential in establishing topic ideas, providing photos, her sheep & goat expertise, her critical eye, & her support as we've put some of these resources together.
My parents, Bill & Sharon, have been critical to this process in their own ways. My dad is a marketing manager with tons of experience building websites, creating materials, & building a brand. He has generously consulted over & over again on website design, product formatting & design, & advertising. My mom is a pediatric nurse practitioner who has offered another review of formatting & resource organization, as well as enthusiastic support while she learns about livestock husbandry through that review.
The livestock veterinary community has been overwhelmingly supportive of our mission as well. I'm part of multiple online & professional groups that have offered advice & second opinions on cases, essential veterinary literature & information, suggestions for topics & resources, support to small & large farms alike, & a place to go when other people in your life just don't "get it." I'm so proud to be part of this community.
So thanks to you all. I've been obsessing over this whole project since Chris & I decided we were going to make it happen, sitting in a hotel room at a conference & I'm really proud of what we've created & where we're going, even if I didn't think it was going to make it at some points along the way.
Thank you!!!
